Redgorton is a 300 year old , semi-detached, Cruck cottage which has been extended and refurbished to a very high standard. It is cosy and welcoming whilst being bright and spacious and we think our guests are going to love it. There is oil fired, underfloor heating throughout and a wood burner in the sitting room. The cottage is dog friendly and there is a welcome tray and some doggy extras including a comfy dog bed. The garden is fenced and has a lovely patio area for relaxing and outdoor dining. There are beautiful views and the location is very peaceful. You may even be lucky enough to see red squirrels in the garden, along with other local wildlife!
The accommodation sits on one level, with the living space in the center and an en-suite bedroom at each end. The dining kitchen, utility and Master bedroom are in the extended part of the cottage and enjoy a high vaulted ceiling and large patio doors which let the natural light flood in. The sitting room and second bedroom are in the original stone built cottage. The sitting room has a wood burner and comfy sofa and armchairs, perfect for relaxing at the end of a day of exploring this beautiful part of Highland Perthshire.
The master bedroom has a king size bed, dressing area and en-suite shower room. There are large patio doors giving wonderful views of the garden and hills beyond. The second bedroom has zip and link beds which can be made as twins or zipped together to make a super king. It also enjoys a spacious en-suite shower room. A travel cot and highchair are available on request.
The kitchen is well equipped and has an electric oven and hob, fridge freezer, microwave and dishwasher. There is a washing machine in the utility room. You will find an excellent selection of pots, pans, china, glasses etc, in fact, everything you need for family cooking and dining. The dining table seats 4 and sits in front of the large patio doors looking out on to the garden.
A lot of thought has gone in to putting this lovely cottage together and it has a very welcoming and homely feel which we know you will love.
Redgorton sits in the hamlet of Camserney, just 10 minutes from the popular town of Aberfeldy. This stunning area of Highland Perthshire offers a wealth of activities, attractions and beautiful scenery. There are lots of great walks ranging from lazy riverside walks in Kenmore to hill climbing. There are 7 Munros within 20 miles, including Perthshires’ highest, Ben Lawers and the famous Schiehallion, so this is a great area for hiking and hill climbing enthusiasts. There are also some great woodland and countryside walks from the doorstep of the cottage along with a walk to Aberfeldy.
The popular Highland town of Aberfeldy boasts a wealth of shops including a large Co-op supermarket, excellent bakery and pantry store, butchers and a great plastic free refill shop that sells a wonderful selection of eco friendly products and loose food items. There is a fabulous community cinema, the award wining Watermill bookshop, gallery and cafe, and a range of other gift and clothing shops. This characterful town has a reputation for the friendly welcome it extends to its visitors and we get some great feedback from guests about how much they love coming here.
The local area offers a host of activities such as walking, cycling, golf, fishing, water sports, white water rafting, canyoning to name but a few. There are also some great attractions such as the award wining Dewars Aberfeldy Distillery, Castle Menzies, The Scottish Crannog Centre and Highland Adventure Safaris.
